Red Meal and Judy

As promised, I am going to blog at least once a week. This week's highlight was our Valentines meal and Dad and Judy's. It was so much fun. Judy has brought a few new traditions into the family. She had a red meal for Valentines. How cute is that? Everything was red.... we had fruit punch, baked spaghetti, pink fruit salad, pink homemade applesauce, pink shortbread cookies, and strawberry pie. It was a lot of fun.

Judy's birthday was on Monday. She unselfishly offered to babysit on her birthday which was very nice of her. For those of you that don't have the pleasure of knowing Judy, let me describe her a little bit. She is wonderful! She has been such a blessing to our family. She has been more than understanding about our mother's death. She understands our hurt and is VERY sensitive to that. She sheds tears for our mother, too. She loves her, too! She never comes on too strong, but yet is ALWAYS there when we need her. She treats our children as her own grandchildren. She treats us as she would her own children. At the beginning, us kids couldn't understand why things were moving so fast. Why would God not allow us to grieve for our mother before another woman jumps into the picture? Well, it just goes to show not to question God. His plan is always perfect. Judy has been such an awesome tool to help us through this grieving process. She will never replace my mother! (She wouldn't want to or try to) But she is now family and I am developing a motherly love and friendship for this sweet lady. I appreciate her love and respect for my mother, her love and respect for my mother's things, and most importantly her love and respect for my mother's memory!

Thanks Judy! We love you!

Here are pics from our "Red Meal."

Mischief at it's finest.

Gigi and the kids. Once Elis got her Valentine candy bag there was no going back. She has candy in her mouth for the rest of the night.

Grampy and Nanny gave the kids V-day bags. As you can see, Elis won't put her bag down. It is with her until I pulled it away at bedtime. Thanks Grampy and Nanny for an awesome evening!

That is so sweet Nancy! My mom always say she has 5 grankids & truly believes that & treats them as such.. even though 2 are 'blood', 2 are 'inherited by marraige'to my stepdad & another by my marraige - they're all blessings to her!
